Pest Control Oonoonba

Zamp Pest Control07 4463 8976

Cockroaches behind the kitchen kick-board, ants tracking along a skirting, something moving in the roof after dark — if that’s your house, you’re on the right page. We’re a local pest control crew and Oonoonba is inside our service area, along with the rest of Townsville. Homes are what we do, with products chosen to be safe around kids and pets.

Do we come to Oonoonba? We come to you across Oonoonba — homes across the suburb, with the same team and the same call-out process throughout the area.

Pest Control in Oonoonba

You end up knowing what you’ve actually got, where it’s getting in, and what it’ll take to keep it out — then the treatment to do it. We work the whole house, not just the room you’ve noticed them in: internal harbourage points, the perimeter, the roof void and subfloor where it applies, and the entry points that let them back in. For cockroaches, ants, spiders, wasps, silverfish, rats and mice, that means the population knocked down and a barrier left behind that keeps working after we drive off. If you’d rather not think about it again, an annual treatment puts it on a schedule.

How it works

Ask for a quote and you’ll get a price before you commit to anything. Book it in and a confirmation email comes through with the pre-treatment advice — what to move, what to cover, whether pets need to be out for a bit. The day before, you’ll get an SMS reminder. On the day Rob or Dale turns up in the window you were given, walks the house with you, treats it, and tells you plainly what was found. You pay on the spot by EFTPOS. Then you get the post-treatment advice — what’s normal to see in the first few days, what isn’t — and a week later we email to ask how it’s going.

Why us

Rob’s a licensed technician and an ex-electrical engineer, and that shows in how a job runs: the inspection comes before the spray, and the treatment matches what’s actually there rather than a standard blast of everything. The one-week check-in exists for the same reason — it’s how we find out whether a treatment held instead of assuming it did. If it hasn’t, we’d rather hear about it from you in week one than not at all.

What it costs

Quotes are free and the price you’re quoted is the price you pay — no on-the-day extras once a technician is standing in your kitchen. Cost comes down to the pest, the size of the house and how far it’s spread; a single-room silverfish job and a full rodent problem across a roof void aren’t the same piece of work, so we’d rather quote your house than wave a number at you. Payment is EFTPOS when the job’s done.

Council’s disaster-management guidance names this as one of the low-lying areas — with Railway Estate, South Townsville and parts of Hermit Park — that needs to take extra precaution when heavy rain, strong winds and high tides line up, and advises residents to move things to higher ground. Worth knowing for pest control too: the conditions that push water up push cockroaches, ants and rodents out of drains, yards and subfloors and into the dry parts of a house. If your pest problem tends to show up after a big weather event rather than randomly, that’s why, and it’s a reason to have the barrier in place before the season rather than after.

Getting started

Book online, or ask for a free quote and we’ll come back with a price and a time. We’re on Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Tell us what you’re seeing and roughly where in the house — that’s usually enough for us to know what we’re bringing.

Common questions

Do you actually service Oonoonba?

Yes. It’s inside our standard service area, along with the rest of Townsville and the surrounding suburbs.

Is the treatment safe with kids and a dog in the house?

That’s how we choose what we use. The confirmation email you get when you book includes pre-treatment advice covering what to move or cover and whether pets need to be kept clear for a short period, and the technician will run through it again on the day.

Should I wait until after the wet weather to book?

No — the better time is before. This is a low-lying part of town that council flags as needing extra precaution when heavy rain, strong winds and high tides combine, and those same conditions drive pests indoors. A barrier already in place does more than one applied afterwards.

How and when do I pay?

On the day, by EFTPOS, once the job’s finished. The quote comes first and it’s free, so you know the figure before you book.
